EMDR allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. EMDR is designed to activate this natural healing process in the brain through alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps. Our therapists are trained to provide EMDR psychotherapy for the treatment of trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, anger, PTSD, and dissociative disorders.
While a therapist may attempt to access both the physical and emotional “locations” of negative emotions, brainspotting therapists use something called “dual attunement,” a process through which the therapist simultaneously attunes to the therapeutic relationship as well as the brain-body response of the person in therapy. Brainspotting is a natural approach to access and help the brain heal.
Attachment trauma can occur when there is emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse or neglect of a child. Attachment based EMDR with parts work is an effective treatment of attachment trauma.
At Westlake Village Counseling & Trauma Center we collaborate with our clients to offer trauma intensive work utilizing EMDR and Brainspotting treatment.
We offer Non-Invasive EEG brain mapping which is an objective measurement of your brain function. This paired with Neurofeedback can help your brain train to heal naturally.
